Maritime Compliance Officer

Responsibilities
• Check adherence to NIMASA rules, notices and maritime law. • Track certificates, permits, licences and renewals. • Assist inspections and regulatory audits. • Identify gaps and coordinate corrective follow-up. • Maintain compliance records and track regulatory changes. • Support incident reporting and internal reviews. • Coordinate with NIMASA, port authorities, classification societies and other stakeholders.
Requirements
• Degree/HND in Maritime Studies, Nautical Science, Marine Engineering, Transport Management, Maritime Administration, Law or a related discipline. • 2–5 years in maritime compliance, operations, ship management, HSE or marine safety. • Knowledge of Nigerian maritime legislation and NIMASA requirements. • Strong documentation, reporting, communication and regulatory-interpretation skills. • Microsoft Office proficiency. • Relevant ISM, ISPS, STCW, ISO, HSE/NEBOSH/IOSH, pollution-prevention or Port/Flag State compliance training is advantageous.
